Sabine and Jonathan’s wedding was the last wedding I shot before leaving for my own wedding just a couple days later! They currently live in Germany and planned their wedding from there. The couple had their ceremony at Stevens Chapel in Easthampton (which is located on the campus where the two met at their 10 year high school reunion) and included a mix between traditional German traditions and American traditions. Before their wedding, Sabine let me know that there would be “German games” being played in between the ceremony and the reception and when I asked what she meant by that, she couldn’t really describe it because it’s a surprise that the family puts on for the couple. You’ll see! Also, notice the little piggy following the couple around all day. His/her name is Hoshi and is a symbol for good luck. I love how the German’s dance, it’s all about the line dance! The DJ’s played German music all night long, and I have no idea why but when they played “Viva Colonia” the floor blew up! I have never seen so many different types of vodka provided by a venue before, that must have been a special request
Thank you Sabine and Jonathan for having me and giving me some really sweet last-minute wedding day advice. It *really* came in handy!
I met Rachael though my brother last winter. She sells my brother’s product and while they were talking, she mentioned that she was engaged and looking for a photographer! I love these two, I asked them what they love most about each other and in a nutshell Peter likes that Rachael is outgoing and Rachael likes that Peter is calm – a perfect balance. We met up in P-town (Provincetown, MA) for their engagement session recently. I had never been to P-town before, so sad. As I drove out there I noticed lots of sick trees on the road and was hoping there were some by their house. Of course they surrounded the entire area and I was excited! We started out walking around their street and into the Pitch Pine forest, then headed to the beach! There were about 400 seals hanging out on a sandbar that day, so you know I was freakin’ out. We finished up with dinner and a beer in town, then Peter drove us to *the sunset spot* for more P-town gorgeousness. I cannot wait to bring Danny and Emma here this fall. Thank you guys so much for the tour!

I am so excited to have my very first giveaway on my blog! I met Heather through my friend Emily when I was looking for a local jeweler to set some of my mother’s stones into something that I would wear. They have just been sitting in a plastic bag for the last 3 years and I made it my New Year’s resolution (along with many other things) to get them set so that I can wear them and have a great memory of my mother with me every day.
I took the stones to Heather and she came up with the most awesome design! It’s not finished yet, so you won’t see any photos until it’s done. hehe
Heather holds an MFA in Goldsmithing, Silversmithing, Metalwork and Jewelry and gets commissioned to make many wedding bands, engagement rings and other wedding related accessories. If you want something unique and not the plain diamond solitaire, you must go to her. She also teaches jewelry making classes during the week! Can you see why I love her?!
I ask a lot of questions whenever I meet crafty people like, “what’s this for? what do you do with these? How do you cast things? you use these cool colored powders for what now?” and Heather is happily ready to feed my curiosity, I love that!
I went to her studio this weekend to check on my piece and I had to have a pair of her earrings, so I got one pair for me and one for you! Here are some photos of Heather in her studio and I have a pair of her Bright white enameled copper Cherry Blossom earrings swing from fine sterling silver hoops to give away! (I got that description from her Etsy shop)
